Wilmer E. Goering II
Wil Goering has a general litigation practice including Personal Injury on behalf of injured parties, Insurance Defense and Criminal Defense. Mr. Goering also prepares Wills and Trusts and handles Probate and Real Estate matters. He also serves as a public defender in several courts and advises employers on employee matters. Mr. Goering has served for 15 of the past 17 years as County Attorney for Jefferson County Indiana, advising the County Executive and elected officials and defending the county in civil litigation. He is a member of the Jefferson County and Indiana State Bar Associations and ATLA. He is admitted to practice in all Indiana Courts, the Southern and Northern Federal District Courts of Indiana and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
A native of Kansas, Mr. Goering graduated from Wichita State University and the University of Virginia School of Law. He was previously a partner in the Hamilton Co. firm of Campbell, Kyle & Proffitt before relocating to Madison in 1983. He also served 8 years as Chief Deputy Prosecutor for the Fifth Judicial Circuit in Indiana. Mr. Goering is married and has a son. He is an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. Wil Goering is a 24 year member of Fairplay Fire Co. No 1, Indiana's oldest Volunteer Fire Company, and is also a member of Rotary International.
